The Most Stunning Beaches in Mauritius - Explore the Finest Beaches in Mauritius

Revered as a beach holiday hotspot like no other, Mauritius is home to some of the most spectacular beaches in the region. Here are some white, sandy beach paradises occupying the paradise isle.

1

Trou aux Biches

Ranked among the top beaches in the country, Trou aux Biches is a relatively shallow beach with a large reef that's ideal for snorkelling activities. Also considered a prime scuba diving hub thanks to the Water Lily wreck site, Trou aux Biches is also where the dive site dubbed Aquarium is found. Abound with countless marine species this tranquil beach is a place where holidaymakers of all ages can splash around in the water. With supermarkets and fantastic eateries such as 1974 and Pierre Noodles lining the fringes of the coastline, it is the perfect day-trip beach in Mauritius.

2

Tamarin Beach

Named after the village in which it is found, Tamarin Beach is one of the few black-sand beaches on the island. Occupying the western shores of the coast, it is often considered the most visually arresting beach in all of Mauritius. Also identified as the "Surfer Beach" the area also happens to be perfect for wave riding activities and sea baths. The current is pretty strong so the waves never disappoint when it comes to the beach's top surfing spots named Black Stone and Dal. Dolphins are also known to make an appearance near the shores of this beach during sunset.

3

Grand Baie

Those based at Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas will also find that Grand Baie is one of the top attractions in Mauritius for beach fanatics. Although the beach is not a great place to go for a swim, the boats that occupy the shores and the scuba diving activities available nearby make it a must-visit hotspot for water sports lovers. Sea walking tours are also available from this beach where tandem sky-diving operators are also found. Don't forget to wine and dine at the Flowers of Paradise, Le Capitaine or The Banana Beach Club during a day spent at Grand Baie.

4

Mont Choisy Beach

Situated in the northern reaches of Mauritius, this is a breathtaking beach as well as one of the longest on the island nation. As one of the best beaches close to the airport, it is also a crowded beach that's popular among those who are just stopping by for a brief getaway in the country. Encircled by Casuarinas, the stunning shore makes Mont Choisy Beach the ideal venue to relax and unwind by the sea.

5

Poste Lafayette Beach

As an east coast beach located in the pastoral Roches Noires Village, Poste Lafayette Beach is one of the more peaceful beaches in Mauritius. Home to a 1km long azure lagoon, the beach provides visitors with a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of cosmopolitan Mauritian landscapes.

6

Flic en Flac

Spread out over 8km, Flic en Flac Beach is another famous beach that's part of the Sunset Coast in Mauritius. Avid divers will also enjoy spending the day at this beach while those who wish to learn how to dive can also sign up for lessons at water sports centres near Flic en Flac.
