The 7 Best Bangkok Shopping Places – Bangkok’s favourite shopping centres

Shopping in Bangkok is fun and immersive, you have a great option of large-scale shopping malls and traditional open-air markets to provide you with a variety of goods at great prices!

1

Siam Discovery

Head to the refurbished Siam Discovery shopping mall, which was first started in 1973. It recently got a facelift in May 2016. It goes by the claim as the biggest lifestyle speciality mall in Thailand. The variety here is immense with a range of extremely unique shops, from toy shops with life-sized Star Wars figurines to vendors selling goods. You can also find a complete floor devoted to interior décor and furniture as well.

2

Terminal 21

Visit Rome, Tokyo and even Paris all inside this unique concept shopping mall at Terminal 21. Every floor honours a foreign city – on one level, you will be in San Francisco and on a different continent the next. Located near the Asok stop of BTS Skytrain, it is certainly among the best in Bangkok! There is a famous gym on its highest floor overlooking Sukhumvit Road that has eye-catching floor-to-ceiling glass partitions. On the level above is a gigantic movie theatre, displaying Thai and Hollywood movies.

3

Siam Paragon

The mall has a glass entrance, while friendly security staff greet all those who enter its oasis of shrubs and artificial flowers. The mall has tons of high-end brands, a food court on the basement floor, and an aquarium. They also host all kinds of entertainment expos at least fortnightly! Luxury hotels in Bangkok the likes of Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel can be a good option to stay close to all the major shopping hubs and attractions.

4

Siam Center

A haven for shopaholics, Siam Center boasts plenty of high-end shops, popular international brands and boutiques. The Siam Center's food court, also called the Food Factory, includes multi-national cuisine from Indian to ramen.

5

MBK Center

It may be the nearest thing to an indoor market with stalls and vendors lined up similar to a street market like Chatuchak Weekend Market, minus the sweltering heat and crowds, of course!
Staying true to its market vibe, the market offers reasonable prices and holds a choice of goods, such as clothes and trinkets. MBK trades more than clothing. It is also great for souvenir shopping – just head down to its basement.

6

King Power Complex

It is just five minutes from the Victory Monument stop of the BTS Skytrain. This high-end store has pure white interiors, while an elevator made of glass is prominently placed in the centre of its entrance. All visitors have to get a registration card to make purchases. The majority of the shops are luxury brands like Coach, Lacoste and Burberry. There is a posh rooftop al fresco-type bar if you want a sundowner after all that shopping. It is a hotspot for ex-pats and foreign travellers.

7

Central World

This shopping mall happens to be one of the largest in Bangkok. It is so huge that it includes a gallery of cars within its complex! You can find upscale stores, plenty of supermarkets, entertainment facilities and clothing stores. They also feature an old-school ice-skating rink with lights and music!
