7 Best Doha Beaches You Need To Know About - Top 7 Beaches Every Tourist Must Explore in Doha

While Doha may be more popular as a retail Mecca for the masses, the city's stunning beaches are another great reason to holiday in the Qatari capital. Here are seven beaches every traveller must experience during a getaway in dazzling Doha.

1

Al Jassasiya Beach

Although Al Jassasiya is synonymous with its Neolithic petroglyphs, the area is not just a heritage hub for the masses. Al Jassasiya Beach which is located a stone's throw away is another great reason to head down to this area of the city. As one of the most underrated beaches in all of Qatar, Al Jassasiya Beach's waters are not only clear but clean and free from tourists clamouring for a place to set their towels. This tranquil beach is not bordered by restaurants, shops and recreational facilities so one must bring snacks and refreshments from elsewhere.

2

Al Farkiah Beach

Occupying pride of place in Al Khor, this stunning beach is just 40 minutes away from the heart of Doha. Ideal for families, the shallow waters make it the perfect beach picnic spot for those with children. Straw parasols are part of the landscape so you can read in the shade or splash around in the ocean. Keep in mind that all beaches in Doha are open to only women and kids (below 10) on Sundays and Wednesdays.

3

Al Wakrah Beach

Those who are based at Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels By Tivoli or any of the best hotels in Doha may want to head down to Al Wakrah Beach when they are in the mood for a beach party. Often described as the perfect beachfront for a barbeque or outdoor gathering, the playgrounds located nearby make this beach a favourite among local families.

4

Fuwairit Beach

Active travellers in search of adventure and water sports activities should not miss Fuwairit Beach. Renowned as a hotspot for windsurfers, the idyllic conditions at Fuwairit Beach are suitable for a wide variety of water sports. Those who are visiting Doha between April and September, however, will find that the beach is closed for official turtle nesting season.

5

Sealine Beach

While it may be one of the busiest and most crowded beaches in the city, Sealine Beach is a must-visit piece of paradise due to its white sands and deep blue waters. In addition to swimming, one can also enjoy quad biking and overnight camping at this stunning beach.

6

Al Mafjar Beach

Called Old Ruins Beach since time immemorial, Al Mafjar Beach is for those on the lookout for a seaside escape with deep waters and a charming village nearby. With an open-air museum also within easy reach, Al Mafjar Beach is unlike any other coastal hub in Doha.

7

Al Thakhira Beach

Located next to the Al Thakira Mangroves, the beach of the same name is a prime fishing destination. It is located approximately 40 kilometres from Doha and is an ideal location for sunbathing, swimming, or spending a laidback day at the beach.
