Uluwatu Bali: 8 Reasons to Finally Explore It – A truly Balinese experience

With beautiful beaches, cliff tops, and scenery, Bali has earned its rightful place in the world of tourism. And Uluwatu in Bali is the most preferred tourist spot for a sun and fun getaway.

1

Surfing

Born adventurers find plenty to do in this beautiful tip of Bali. Uluwatu features some of the best beaches, and Padang Padang is known for surfing. Thanks to its consistent, reliable waves and breaks, the beach attracts surfers, both beginners and experienced, from all around the world. The beach is located close to several Bali beach resorts, the likes of Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort, for example, so getting to this beach whenever there's a wave in the offing is easy. Also, you don't have to bring your own surfboard; there are several surfboard rentals on the beach.

2

Pura Luhur Uluwatu

Also known as Uluwatu Temple, Pura Luhur Uluwatu is located on a steep cliff, bringing you amazing views of the ocean and the island. Its majestic gates and brilliant architecture are two reasons for its popularity as a tourist attraction. Home to monks and priests, the temple has a serene atmosphere perfect for meditation.

3

Kecak Fire Dance

Bali is the perfect representation of Balinese culture, and it has many cultural displays that fascinate tourists. Kecak Fire Dance is one such display of Balinese culture and so a must-see. It's also called the first dance, as fire is its centrepiece. About 65 locals with excellent vocal skills join the dance every day at Uluwatu Temple at 6 PM. So, don't forget to get to the temple in time to witness this brilliant performance of cultural finesse.

4

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park

Another historical and cultural attraction in Bali, Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park is one of the most important temples. It's dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva and Garuda, his mount. The main feature of the temple is the massive statue of Shiva riding his mount, which is one of the tallest copper structures in the country. In addition to awe-striking cultural attractions, you can also witness some dance performances and indulge in some shopping here.

5

Uluwatu Beach

Temples and clifftops aren't the only attractions in Uluwatu; it's also home to stunning beaches. Uluwatu Beach, for example, is one of the best spots for diving and other water activities. You can also sit on the soft sand and relax while watching the sun go down or drop by one of the nearby restaurants and enjoy some delicious food. The beach is easily accessible from the town, so getting here is no trouble at all.

6

Karang Boma Cliff

If you are one for blood-pumping adventurous activities like cliff jumping, you will find your adventurous spirit stoked in Bali. Also called the Uluwatu Cliff, Karang Boma Cliff is nothing short of astounding. It peaks down at the Indian Ocean from a height of 70 metres and offers excellent views and an opportunity to jump right into the swirl of the azure waters of the ocean.

7

Cuisine

Balinese cuisine is unique and offers an excellent array of delicious culinary delights that you are bound to fall in love with. Uluwatu is home to numerous restaurants, beach resorts, and roadside stalls serving a comprehensive range of Balinese food. So, your visit to Uluwatu is your chance to indulge in some Balinese flavours.

8

Privacy

Uluwatu is an isolated corner of Bali, which means that you can have all the privacy you want. There's also not much traffic, so you can get to anywhere you want within the shortest time period possible. But if you are driving, be careful, as the roads are bumpy and have unexpected twists and turns.
