However, on the downside, AEON ATMs are hard to come by and are usually found at local shopping centres away from downtown Krabi. To limit withdrawals, take as much cash as possible, and store them in the hotel safe.
Avoid high roaming costs and buy a traveller SIM card as you reach Thailand. You can readily purchase one at a 7-Eleven, network store or from the airport; however, sometimes dealers will add a premium to sim cards purchased at the airport counters. If unsure about the length of your stay, buy a cheaper sim card and top up as you go.
Don't attempt to drink water right off the tap. Always make sure that the water is boiled to the heating point or treated. Carrying a reusable bottle of water is always a good idea – you can get boiled water refills from restaurants and hotels. In some places, the only option will be to buy plastic bottles; however, reuse them by getting extra refills for long journeys.
Transport is great in Krabi. Most sites are within walking distance from the town, while plenty of buses and tuk-tuks will get you around quite efficiently. The other option is to rent a motorbike, which is, perhaps, the most carefree way to travel around the island. Make sure to always wear a helmet, and see to it that your international driving license is in order. While in Krabi or Ao Nang, things to do will be many, like visiting Railay Beach and limestone islands.
