Sometimes it makes you smile, other times it intrigues you, other times it amazes you: the behavior of your fact has something fascinating and mysterious. The cat is a hunter by nature. So, whether he's hungry or not, he goes around looking for prey. Catching them is a success that she wants to share with you by paying homage to you a part of the loot. Or he thinks you're not a good hunter, and he lends you a hand, or rather a paw.
You've almost certainly already washed your face since morning, but your cat doesn't care: he wants to show that he takes care of his human, so he licks you. Sometimes, if he's picky, he can even lick the fur on your head... oops, your hair.
Those who do not know cats tend to be amazed when they see them knead the owner's belly or a wool blanket with their paws. In reality, they do nothing strange, they repeat the gestures of the puppy that sucks the milk from its mother, thus expressing all their pleasure.
If you're afraid of a cat and you're reluctant to get in touch with it, don't be intimidated, don't avoid its eyes, don't pretend you don't see it: you only get the opposite result. The feline thinks you want to prove submissive and harmless and will want to make friends.
These are not bad intentions: shoving the owner's head is, for the cat, one of the many ways of showing his affection, despite releasing his smell. Let me be very clear: you are part of its territory.
The reason is similar to that of the newspapers: your cat is - sincerely - communicating that you are part of its territory, leaving its smell emitted by glands on its lips, on the sides of the head, on the chin.
It bothers him a bit if you dirty his hair or leave the (natural) oil of the skin on him. A little, by cleaning your fur, you smell your smell better. Or it's a way of saying to yourself: leave me alone.
It is not clear why. The most likely answers are that the cat that likes to suck it has been weaned too soon, and tries to repeat the sucking of the wool that, thanks to the lanolin, would remind him of his mother. Or that it needs more fiber.
The language of the cat, a social animal, has its own rules. Moving away from someone like him, without looking at him, means recognizing him as of a higher rank and not wanting trouble.
Because it's a clean animal, they say. In reality, there is also another reason: he recognizes his master as of higher rank and respects him by covering the excrement with sand. On the other hand, when he feels superior, he leaves them uncovered or goes around the house.
