Top 5 Reasons You Need to Visit Hong Kong – Must-see tourist attractions

There's much more to Hong Kong than luxury shopping. Forest-clad mountains, beaches, islands, hiking trails, fishing villages, modern buildings, and ancient temples are characteristic of Hong Kong.

1

Star Ferry

One of the best attractions in Hong Kong, the Star Ferry ride has a history going back to 1880. For a few Hong Kong dollars, you can experience the main highlights and the beautiful skyline of Hong Kong from a new angle. The route between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon will bring you gorgeous vistas of Hong Kong's buildings backed by green mountains. If you take the ferry ride in the evening, you can also catch the world-famous Symphony of Lights. The Star Ferry ride is a must-do thing for those staying at a Kowloon hotel in Hong Kong.

2

Hong Kong Skyline

Hong Kong boasts of one of the most spectacular skylines in the world. The buildings on the main island and Kowloon Island and the forested mountains come together to create beautiful scenery for visitors. Traditional-looking boats at Victoria Harbour contrast delightfully with the modern skyrises on the island. Come nightfall, Hong Kong's skyline takes on a dramatic change with the colourful beams from the Symphony of Lights. The Kowloon waterfront and Victoria Peak are the best places to see the skyline; guests of Park Hotel Hong Kong are perfectly positioned to witness the gorgeous skyline of Hong Kong.

3

The Peak

Victoria Peak, also called the Peak, is another reason for you to spend some time in Hong Kong. To see the best of the island, you must get to Victoria Peak. Getting here involves a scenic tram ride that brings you views of the surrounding islands, the harbour, and the skyscrapers. A park with nature trails, verdant greenery, and excellent vantages encompasses more than 50% of the Peak. There's also a trail that can take you to the city below; this is a combination of many trails, so finding your way about can be confusing without a guide. The best time to visit the Peak is in the evening; there's nothing that can best the view you get from the Peak at night.

4

The beaches

Beaches aren't the first thing that one thinks of when it comes to Hong Kong, but you'll be surprised to find out that the island is home to a number of beautiful beaches. Repulse Bay is particularly appealing to tourists; you can swim and enjoy some beautiful scenery, and the beach never gets overly crowded. Hong Kong's beaches are lined with restaurants offering a wealth of local and international dishes, so make sure you have time to enjoy at least one or two dishes. Big Wave Beach and Shek O Beach are among the best beaches in Hong Kong.

5

Temple Street Night Market

Take a walk through the busy alleyways of Temple Street Night Market. You can sample delicious food and shop for clothes, electronics, various trinkets, and Chinese handicrafts. This is the best place to do some budget shopping for tourists, but there are several other street markets where you can shop as well. You can visit Temple Street Night Market from 6 pm, but the vendors are slow to get going, so feel free to arrive later than 6 pm. Also, Jordon Station is the MRT stop for the market.
