Guns are not toys, we all know this yet we still hear about accidents in Utah that could have been prevented if someone would have just used their brain. The basics when handling a gun are simple; never put your finger on the trigger, never point the gun at someone and always make sure the safety is on. Easy enough, but still, it seems to be a complex concept to many.
If guns kill people, then cars kill people and pens make you write mistakes. People are the ones who kill people and make them have a reputation as being anything but safe. The debate is ongoing, but in reality people who mishandle a gun and don’t take it seriously are more likely to end up accidently shooting themselves or others.
Guns are cool and they make you look tough, okay we get it. They aren’t cool when they are used for inappropriate reasons like trying to show off, sunbathing, taking a photo with one, or playing Russian Roulette. None of this is safe so please, just don’t.
A gun should always be treated as if it has been loaded and ready to shoot. Some guns can look like toys and someone might decide to juggle with a few because it looks safe, but guns should always be considered real and loaded with bullets.
