Koh Samui: 6 things you can experience on the island – Bask in the beauty around, explore and indulge yourself!

The second largest island in Thailand, Koh Samui is blessed with beaches lined with swaying palms, mountainous rainforests, enchanting waterfalls, and an array of serene temples that beckon visitors to savour the best of these attractions to carry home long-lasting memories.

1

Beautiful Namuang Falls

Located a little inland from Nathon Bay, these falls can be easily reached by tuk-tuk from your resort in Koh Samui, the main falls are only a short distance away from the vehicle park and you see locals and visitors admiring the beauty and taking photos. Venture upwards a bit to discover branches of the main waterfall which are not crowded and have their little pools you can have a dip in. The view as you go up becomes scenic and offers many photo opportunities.

2

Bask in the sun at Silver Beach

Have a quiet escape and enjoy the sun and water at this 250-metre-long beach with pristine white sand. Situated on the east side of the island you will be enthralled by the glorious sunrise if you arrive early to catch it just as the visitors from Avani+ Samui Resort often do. You can swim, lounge by the sea and do kayaking etc as you fancy and satisfy the hunger pangs at open-air restaurants available at the beach.

3

Enjoy snorkelling

Whilst many water activities are available in Koh Samui, one of the best is snorkelling as Koh Samui is gifted with an infinite blue ocean, crashing waves and serene waters underneath which lie scores of colourful living species waiting to be admired. Go deep into the ocean beholding coral reefs on a snorkelling experience where all this can be seen, such as at Choeng Mon, Ao Phang Ka, Silver beach and many others in Koh Samui.

4

The Iconic Big Busha Temple

Wat Phra Yai temple, also known as the Big Buddha Temple, is worth a visit to witness the 12-metre-high statue of Lord Buddha, which has been attracting visitors since 1972. Located in Koh Faan connected to Koh Samui by a long causeway, this temple is often on the to-visit list of guests as it is seen clearly as their flight comes into land in Koh Samui and they are eager to see the statue and the environs of the serene temple.

5

Indulge in a Thai Massage

Thai Massages can be a nice way of treating yourself, after all, you are on holiday. They can be had at the beach whilst you are on your sun lounger at very cheap rates. Though these beach massages will be basic stress relievers or energizers, there are an array of massages offered at many spa facilities which are curated for specific requirements. Take your pick and enjoy one.

6

Woo the night markets

A favourite of many visitors as these are places to catch local vibes as well as authentic handicraft items and relish tasty Thai dishes. You mingle and move with the crowd at your own pace from around 5 pm to almost midnight. Try a visit once and you will find it exciting and energizing.
