A trip to Zambia is incomplete without experiencing a national park or two, and Kafue national park is rightfully dubbed the 'crown' of national parks in Zambia. The oldest national park in the country, having been founded in 1924, Kafue National Park spans a whopping 22,400 square kilometres! Home to varying landscapes such as dense forests, Busanga plains and wetlands, the park is home to a vast number of animals. Boasting the largest crocodiles in southern Africa, if you're lucky you will also get to spot wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, hippos and a sneaky cheetah or two. The best part is that Kafue can be reached quite easily by road from either Lusaka or Livingstone.
