Local Protest Against Commemorating 9/11

It was the only event in the city commemorating our nation's 9/11 tragedy. The small group of nine protesters picketing are affiliated with Mayor Parks' re-election campaign. Their protest appeared entirely politically motivated. The apparent brains behind the protesters was Tim Radigan-Brophy, the colorful business partner of councilman Scott Matas.

The most divisive person in the Coachella Valley is back. The $100 a plate dinner benefits the Chamber of Commerce. No proclamation or basket of fruit expected. "I can understand why they are having this event in Rancho Mirage," said Rita DeValle, a resident of Desert Hot Springs.

Councilman Scott Matas and Public Mix It Up at Council Meeting

Here we go again.Once more the city is suffers another pissing match that has marked council dysfunction. This time involving members of the public and Councilman Scott Matas.Members of the public did not take kindly to being accused by Scott Matas of being liars.
