6 Top Spots for Scuba Diving in Mirissa- The wonders of the ocean await

It's always a great feeling, to look forward to the holidays which are just around the corner. A great way to spend a vacation is to visit the beach, soak up some rays, and indulge in water sports like scuba diving. Scuba diving in Mirissa is a must-do if you're looking for excitement.

1

How to prepare yourself for your first session

A Scuba divers' life is transformed when they steadily descend to depths of the ocean and witness all the vibrant coral life that awaits them, for the very first time. It may be both exhilarating and overwhelming for newbies to get started.
Before you can scuba dive, you have to sort out everything from the gear to training and, finally, the certification process. It's worth the effort, but you'll need some help getting through it. If you are staying at a Mirissa beach villa, for example, accommodation such as The Beach House, be sure to ask for some of the best diving instructors for you to get started.

2

Purchasing or Renting Diving Equipment

There is a lot of gear required for scuba diving. A snorkelling gear add-on raises the price even further. So, what's better: buying everything outright or renting it all? Doing some of both is the best solution. A scuba diving mask and wetsuit are essential purchases. However, this is not the case for some items, such as bulky ones like a scuba tank. It's not safe to fly with this much weight in bags.

3

Lopsta Point

This coral area is huge, and it would take around 40 minutes to really examine it. In Mirissa, you can easily enjoy a scuba diving session to a maximum depth of 15–17 meters. However, for a beginner, this is one of the best places to get started!

4

Napoleon Point

This is a huge, rocky expanse of land. This dive takes about 29 minutes to complete, and the rock bottom is between 25 and 27 meters deep.

5

Diyambagala Point

With a maximum depth of 32-37 meters, this particular dive site will be the most challenging you may encounter from the area. However, if you brace yourself and focus up for the dive, you should be able to complete the dive in approximately 30 to 35 minutes.

6

Godagala Point

It is likely that you have heard about Godagala Point before, but if you want to observe a wide variety of fish, you should give it a shot. The depth of this reef ranges from 17 to 23 meters. To get a decent look at this reef, you'll need at least 40 minutes, if not more.

7

The Aththalaba point

This is a vast and rocky area. In this reef area, you can practice multi-level diving at a depth of between 8 and 21 meters. The entire region may be explored in 29 minutes.

8

The Reef Point

For those who are interested in underwater photography and marine biology, this is a great site to visit in Sri Lanka. It's a massive reef system with a depth range of 15 to 17 meters. To fully explore the site, you'll need around 45 minutes of diving time.
