People like to buy bulbs depending on their wattage, believing that this would indicate how brilliant the light they would produce. But that’s not accurate. The wattage, not the brilliance, tells a client how important power the lightbulb needs. For illustration, a 40- watt bulb can be just as bright as a 100- watt bulb. This is especially important currently because ultramodern bulbs use far less electricity, making wattage an unreliable index of a bulb’s brilliance.
