Top 5 Adventure Things to Try in Dubai - Let the adventure begin in Dubai

Dubai, probably the most famous city in the UAE, also happens to be a great place for those seeking a little adventure as well! It's not just shopping malls, theme parks and stupendous constructions that make Dubai a special holiday destination.

1

Head to Atlantis

Located at the head of the Palm, rose-coloured Atlantis is among Dubai's most well-loved attractions. It has amazing hotels, restaurants and an adrenaline-pumping range of entertainment and recreational options. Let your inner child run free at the Aquaventure Waterpark. Here you can ride the many record-breaking waterslides. There is one that plummets you right into a shark tank!

The fun doesn't have to conclude once you depart the waterpark. At Atlantis, paddle with dolphins at Dolphin Bay and have some close encounters with the resident sea lions. You can also sign up for a tour of The Lost Chambers Aquarium, where you can snorkel and dive into lagoons swarming with marine life. Over 65,000 animals live in the aquarium, including 14 species of sharks and sting/manta rays.

2

Paddle in the Palm

If you would fancy something calmer but still adventurous, traverse the gentle waters encircling Palm Jumeirah or follow an escorted kayak tour and journey to the crescent while catching some amazing views of Dubai Marina, Burj al Arab, and the highest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. You can even try to balance a stand-up Paddleboarding session. There are also water pilates and yoga sessions encircling the Palm! If travelling with a larger party, get a dragon boat!

3

Visit the Dubai Creek

Dubai Creek is a natural saltwater creek that splits the city into two parts – Deira to the north and Bur Dubai to the south. It stretches for 9 miles and creates a natural harbour, and is traditionally utilised for transport and trade. Travel across the creek in an abra, a traditional wooden ferry and discover the markets in Deira, known as souks. The crossroad shops are packed with goodies like fragrant spices and frankincense. You can find quite a lot of hotels in Dubai, Deira, as well. The likes of Avani Deira Dubai Hotel are among some of the options available.

4

Kite surfing

Kite surfing is a fun-filled watersport that uses a kite and board to push you over the water. Unlike surfing, it doesn't require substantial wave activity and can be done under most weather patterns, from calm lagoons to open seas. Water and wind are the necessities for kite surfing! It is a popular water sport in the Dubai Marina, and lessons for beginners can be found at the Kit Zone Dubai.

The sea breacher

It is a mechanised-looking shark submarine with two seats from which you can dive into the water. An instructor will be present, so there is nothing to worry about. The machine travels at a rate of 55 mph on water and can dive to a depth of five feet into the sea. That's not all, it can spontaneously fly into the sky at a height of 18 feet..
