05 Best Things to Do in Koh Phangan

Home to the famous full moon party, Koh Phagan has everything you could wish for from a tropical island paradise; delightfully white sandy beaches, swaying palm trees, and lush jungles framed by impossibly blue waters. A relatively small island, Kong Phangan attracts seasoned travellers from around the world!

1

Hike to Bottle Beach

Bottle Beach has garnered quite a reputation as one of the best beaches on the island and is a top Koh Phangan attraction. A true gem of Thailand's gulf, Bottle beach is located at the northern end of the island, and requires an hour-long trek through lush tropical jungle to get there. So make sure to carry plenty of insect repellent and wear a sturdy pair of walking shoes. After the sweaty and tiring hike, you will be rewarded with a picture postcard-perfect setting where you can kick back and relax in ultimate tropical bliss.

2

Visit the Slip N Fly Water Park

If you are after some adrenaline-kicking activities, make your way to the Slip N Fly water park located at 98/5 Moo 3, Madeuwan, Koh Phangan. The popular attraction is open daily to the public from 11 am to 6.30 pm. The entrance will set you back at 700 Baht only. This park in particular is quite popular for its 40-meter ling waterslides as well!

3

Enjoy treat yourself to a Thai Massage

After a tiring day at Slip N Fly, you might want to consider treating yourself to a relaxing Thai massage. Thai massage is a highly revered traditional practice in the county, so it's something you should experience at least once while in Thailand!

4

Schedule a day at Ang Thong National Marine Park

A stunningly beautiful and state-protected archipelago, Ang Thong National Marine Park is an oasis that is truly worth taking in. The park has much to offer from dense palm forests, limestone caves, towering cliffs, hiking trails and coral reefs teeming with marine life. Keep in mind that visitors are only allowed to enter Ang Thong National Park on a government-approved tour boat. Luckily there are plenty of reputed tour companies that offer some great day trip packages from Koh Phangan to the park. Consider requesting a Koh Phangan resort including the likes of Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas where one might be staying to arrange for a visit.

5

Visit Koh Ma

Koh Ma is a tiny little island that lies separately from Koh Phangan during high tide and becomes connected by a sand bar during low tide, which one can cross to spend some time on the islet. To get there make your way to the northwest end of Koh Phangan, during the morning, and simply make your way along the sand bar to reach it. It's the perfect place to enjoy a spot of sunbathing and swimming! Keep in mind that the mid-day heat can be quite unbearable so remember to stay well hydrated and protected from the sun, with reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and a pair of shades.
