The largest island of Thailand lying on the west coast in the Andaman Sea, Phuket is blessed with beautiful beaches, historical temples, lush rainforests and many more attractions including its historical old town beckoning visitors to experience the allure of this charming city.

1

Visit the iconic Big Buddha

This seated statue of Lord Buddha had been erected on the summit of Nakkard Hill near Chalong. At 45 metres in height, it is a famous landmark in Phuket. Devotees, as well as visitors, flock to this hill throughout the year either to pay homage or to admire the statue which glistens during the day and at night due to the marble exterior. The serene surroundings of the temple are an added delight to visitors who also appreciate the breathtaking view of the surroundings from the hill.

2

Enjoy a tour of the Rum Distillery

If you are a lover of rum, Chalong's high-end white rum served at many restaurants in Phuket will whet your appetite, if you are not, this will still be an interesting tour whilst you are visiting Phuket. Through a 30-minute tour, which happens about 5 times a day from the early afternoon you learn how rum is produced after which you witness it step by step. The interesting final lap is in the cocktail bar to learn how various cocktails are mixed using Chalong bay rum. Complete the tour with a quickly mixed sample of Mojito using the famous rum.

3

Feel the vibes of a night market

A colourful market attracting visitors and the young local trendsetters of Phuket, Chillva Night Market has been created using upcycled shipping containers. T-shirts are a hot seller here whilst handmade products, vanity items do brisk business as prices are very reasonable. Pubs, ice cream parlours and a variety of food stalls attract swarms of people. A good time to visit is early evening when the temperature is cooler.

4

Tread the golden sands at Kata beach

A beautiful, curved bay secluded by lush hills at both ends, this is a favourite haunt of locals and visitors. There are many beachfront stalls to grab a bite and drink such as banana or papaya shakes and yummy snacks. Plan to visit at sunrise or sunset to sink your feet into the sane and enjoy the glory of the mighty sun

5

Go back in time as you visit Phuket Old Town

Created during the late 20th century and the early part of the 21st century, this district is home to opulent mansions and carefully preserved shophouses on lines of Sino-colonial architecture. Whilst shophouses line both sides of the streets you also note Chinese shrines and Buddhist temples. Restaurants, coffee shops and bars do a brisk business serving those who are curious to experience this charming old city.

Enjoy a floating restaurant at Laem Hin Pier

This will be an unforgettable experience of your visit to Phuket.
