Five People Who Followed Their Dreams

The CEO of Apple, pioneer for civil rights, former Secretary of State, and Beyonce. They all started with just one single dream and then followed with the necessary steps to achieve those dreams. Maybe those dreams involved college, or maybe not. Either way, to become the successful adult that you wish to be it is essential that you have two things: hard work and determination.

We all know who Steve Jobs is, unless you have been living under a rock for the last 20 years or are still one of those poor souls still using Windows. Steve Jobs is one of the few who gained great success as an entrepreneur, marketer, and inventor after dropping out of college. However, his success did not come quickly nor was it easy. After being forced out of Apple in the 1980s, he started his own company, which was acquired by Pixar, then by Disney, before finally coming back to buy out Apple in 1998 to become the CEO.

Beyonce has become a fabulous, fierce diva in her own right. The rise of her career began in the late 1990’s as the lead singer of the R&B girl group Destiny’s Child. The rest of course is popular culture history. The group eventually broke up and Beyonce went on to become Sasha Fierce, the women who showed us all that she has the legs, arms, and voice that never quits. She may not have a college degree, but she does have incredible ambition.

We prayed for her, as well as for the other lives affected during that rally turned tragedy where she spoke in Tucson, Ariz. Since that somber day in 2011, Gabrielle Giffords has been hard at work recovering from her wounds, as well as fighting for more gun protection and safety laws. Whether you believe in her cause or not, you do have to believe that this college educated woman has come back against incredible adversity. She is an inspiration to people in Utah and all over the world.
