7 Hidden Gems of Khao Lak – Dive into splendour

Khao Lak has a long stretch of beautiful, awesome beaches along the Andaman Sea. These beaches are backed by forested mountains and are dotted with resorts and other tourist facilities. This place is also known for its lush tropical rainforests, enchanting hills, and clean national parks.

1

Go sunbathing on the tranquil beaches

A couple of kilometres to the north of Bang La On is Bang Niang. A shabby outdoor market is held in the town's centre, which is otherwise devoid of visual appeal. There are some popular night-time bars and discos. Bang Niang Beach can be reached by taking a left turn from the 8-10 shop in the town centre and proceeding in the direction of the water. On the Andaman Coast, where the beach stretches for some 20 kilometres, it is always possible to find a favourite spot to swim and unwind. The most frequented beaches are Nan Thong Beaches and Bang Niang Beach. If you want to get a natural tan, you're in the right place because these beaches have great spots for sunbathing and relaxing.
It would also help to find a place at one of the Khao Lak beach hotels such as the Avani+ Khao Lak Resort to make the most of your stay.

2

Visit Chong Fah Waterfall

Outside of the beaches, there is an abundance of nature to explore in and around Khao Lak, including mountains, forests, and waterfalls. One kilometre of hiking will bring you to the Chong Fah waterfall, which is surrounded by tropical rainforest. This location appears to be from another planet and is a great spot to take breath-taking photographs.

3

Lessons in Horseback Riding at the Khao Lak Horse Club

Bang La On is the most tourist-oriented of the three principal Khao Lak towns. The first stop close to the Nang Thong Supermarket is Bang La Bang La On. This leads to Nang Thong Beach, the town's beach.

Khao Lak Horse Club offers horseback riding lessons on mountainous and coastal terrain. This location is frequented throughout the year by tourists for Horse Riding Sessions.

4

Wat Tham pagoda

To experience the Thai culture, one could plan a village tour. The Wat Tham temple that connects Phuket and Phang Nga Town should be visited. This location's reclining Buddha makes it distinctive and popular with tourists. A few miles away is the Wat Tham Village, which is known for its hospitality and friendliness towards tourists.

5

A Jungle Safari at Khao Lak National Park

The Khao Lak National Park features the beauty of a concealed jungle, rivers, and waterfalls. The 700-kilometer-square Khao Lak National Park is the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world. One can opt for the Park's Jungle Safari to experience wildlife up close and personal. Consequently, visiting this location would be among the top things to do in Khao Lak.

This memorial park is named after police boat 813, which drifted 2 kilometres from its land anchorage. The International Tsunami Museum in Khao Lak contains photographs and ruins of the Tsunami that struck this area. This location will send chills up your spine. There are a variety of mementos for sale here, which could be purchased as souvenirs of a visit to the Museum.
