Quy Nhon is a beautiful coastal city and among the least explored in Vietnam. Filled with amazing beaches, landscapes and a historical past that is sure to keep you spellbound by its beauty.
Bai Xep, a small fishing village located 12 kilometres from Central Quy Nhon is hardly visited by tourists so it will be an authentic experience. It first began with only two hostels near the beach near the village. But these days more accommodations are available.
Enjoy the authentic surroundings at this Vietnamese fishing village and relax on the beach or go on a boat ride to nearby islands for a relaxing snorkelling session.
Found on the seaside road, south of Quy Nhon. There is ample shelter provided by trees on either side and quite secluded on weekdays. Find plenty of cute shops, eateries and houses beneath the shade near the beach. On the northern extremity is a park commemorating famous personalities with a gallery of sorts featuring their busts.
Find Eo Gio 20 km northeast of central Quy Nhon city centre. The beach presents quite an adventure due to the rocky coastline with multiple hills and caverns that can be explored. The terrain is rough, hilly and remote. Not the best beach to swim in, but nonetheless a great beach to explore!
At Phuong Mai, the dunes are massive and are found next to Nhon Ly Beach. It's a great place to capture some beautiful photos, and perhaps even try your hand at sandboarding across the dunes. Combine the dunes with a trip to the fishing village of Hải Nam. Another authentic fishing village, there is a pretty beach and an island to explore near it.
Visiting the Champa ruins is one of the best things to do in Quy Nhon. They were indigenous people who lived in the coastal areas of Vietnam and specialist seafarers. The Kingdom lasted from the 7th to the 15 centuries. The towers at Thap Doi are also called twin towers and are one of the most accessible out of all the Cham Towers. Most of these were constructed during the 12-13th centuries. It is formed with red bricks, which sit proudly near the coconut palms and banana trees.
Banh It has four restored towers located on the summit of a cliff, giving off some amazing vistas overlooking the countryside. It is located 15 km away from the city centre. The Gate Tower, the Fire Tower, and the Sanctuary Tower stand at a height of 29.6 meters. The Sanctuary Tower is decorated with five pilasters with double grooves and ornate designs on its three-layered canopy.
Vijaya Citadel was a thriving city and capital of the empire. Only sparse remains are to be witnessed presently. The foundation partitions, some square wells, as well as a few stone lions have survived.
Once you have had your fill of the beaches, head to the countryside by renting a bike or motorbike to discover what rural life is like for the Vietnamese. Witness stretches of beautiful paddy fields and charming villages where the folks lead a simple and peaceful life.
