Top 5 must-visit beaches in Adelaide – This one’s for beach lovers!

There's so much to do and see in South Australia, and Adelaide will not disappoint. Culture, events and entertainment among much more, Adelaide is fast becoming a favourite. Here are some beaches to visit when you're there!

Maslin beach

Said to be the prettiest beach in South Australia, this beach is in absolutely pristine condition. Ideal for picnics or a day of relaxing, the high cliffs near Blanche point make for a scenic backdrop. Although Maslin beach is located 42 kilometres from Adelaide, it has become quite popular. The beach is three kilometres long, and has three parts; one on top of the stairs, the second on Parkway Avenue and the third on Beachway Avenue. This beach is ideal for those who'd like to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and are just looking for some quiet time.

Henley Beach

A quick 16 minutes from Avani Adelaide Residences and close to many other hotels in Adelaide city, Henley beach is a must-visit. Offering great vibes and a serene atmosphere, you can let loose when you're at this beach. The best part is that it's in the city itself, and there are two ways of getting here. If you're someone that enjoys walks, you can opt for River Torrens Linear Park Trail which leads you right into Henley beach. However, if you'd rather not walk, there's also the tram ride which can be accessed from the city centre! Another great point about Henley beach is that it's lined with amazing seafood restaurants, so you can satisfy any of your seafood cravings while you're here.

Glenelg Beach

If you're looking for a beach that is buzzing with activity, then Glenelg is the best option! It's supposedly Adelaide's most popular city beach and is enjoyed by everyone. The wide beach, quirky cafes and interesting entertainment are some of the reasons to pay a visit. You can even spend an entire day here, taking a dip on the welcoming ocean, taking a stroll or two, getting something yummy to eat and ending the day with a spectacular view of the picture-perfect sunset. During the warmer months, Moseley Square and Glenelg Foreshore Playground are abuzz with activity, which also makes them family-friendly.

Aldinga Beach

Attracting swarms of swimmers, surfers and tourists, Aldinga Beach lies within the city of Onkaparinga. Its beauty is unmatched, which is one of the main reasons for its popularity. There's also the opportunity to try out water sports, snorkelling and scuba diving here. You must expect to see a crowd during the warmer months!

Seacliff beach

Located in the suburbs of Adelaide, this famous beach is known for its plethora of fun water sports and water activities. You can plan an entire day out at the beach, and there's also a high tide sand section one shouldn't miss out on! Remember to take a change of clothes with you if you plan on visiting the high tide section.
