Just as much as you look forward to the holiday in Sri Lanka you must be curious about the food scene, around the island. It is a burgeoning one with many people enjoying eating out and street food is a hot favourite especially when one is on the move.

All in one Kottu

A street food loved by most people, this is made whilst you watch and dished out hot. A flavourful mix of godamba roti strips with chopped crunchy vegetables, onions, and meat with a fistful of spices and a dash of chilli or tomato sauce. Breaking an egg or a cheese slice as it is made on the hot griddle gives it a yummy taste relished by many guests at hotels in Bentota.

Crispy Vadei

This deep-fried crisp snack comes in various shapes and tastes. Another tasty street food sold all over Sri Lanka this savoury is made out of flour and semolina. Stuffed with tempered potato, green peas and onions well seasoned with spices and deep-fried until golden. For meat lovers beef or chicken, samosa is available. Served with mint chutney or sauce of your choice. A tasty and filling finger food.

This is the Sri Lankan version of potato chips. The manioc is skinned and cut into paper-thin slices and deep-fried until golden, well seasoned with chilli powder, pepper and salt these are sold at street corners all over Sri Lanka, a must-try street food.
