Nine videos were ranked based on their effectiveness in relation to the 21st century learner and learning
This video was free of a lot of graphics, but it was very to the point.
Even though no one was talking, it conveyed through pictures and questions what a 21st century learner needs. The use of questions along with answers were very thought provoking.
This video did a very good job of showing how to engage students using technology. The fact that a students story could be read by 2000 online as opposed to one teacher was very persuasive.
The video talked about the digital revolution. The teaching tools that were shown starting with a wordle made the use of technology relevant. The statement that we should not be teaching content and skills, but content w/skills was a good argument for using technology.
The fact that this video used what seemed to be everyday classrooms was very appealing. Having the students present the argument using written display cards was very good. No words were spoken, but I was able to understand the importance of technology for the 21st century learner. All teachers should prefer to have their students engaged in 5 hours of listening to literature as opposed to 2 hours.
As with #5 the use of the students sharing through the use of word cards was a good argument. These students were older, maybe college level but the message was the same. They compared their time using technology to the time doing the mundane tasks of class. One instance is when the time writing was compared to the time texting.
The video used PowerPoint to convey the importance of 21st Century Literacy. The information was given very concisely and persuasively.
The intro from the Library of Congress was very informative about what was available from them in regards to integrating technology. The many interviews with various persons with interest in 21st Century learning were very informative, but many too much at one time. There was a lot shared in this video. sometimes when teachers are presented with a lot at one time, they come away with very little.
The title was very appropriate. The song and the pictures were very engaging. The very thing that important when teaching the 21st century learner. The video referred to the students as the digital generation which really sums it up. Showing the students on cell phones and using laptops showed the change from students engaging in writing notes or using encyclopedias for research.
The video incorporated persons and their take on how learning should be taking place today. On highlight in the video was the use of technology in art.
