Cooked Meat Rice Dumplings

These glutinous rice dumplings, locally known as Shao Rou Zong, come in several flavours; primarily either sweet or savoury. One of the more famous flavours is the Xiamen rice dumplings, which are not too greasy but are fragrant and sticky. The highlight of the dumplings is that they are yellow and red, which makes them stand out. You can also taste some other fillings, which include mushrooms, chestnuts and even peanuts.

Deep-Fried Tofu Dumplings

Among the Xiamen people, Zhawuxiang is quite popular! This delectable dish is cooked to serve among friends and you will also spot them at weddings. The fillings contain fish meat, green onions, chopped pork and water chestnuts. The filling is then covered with thin tofu skin, deep-fried and served with tasty sauces.
