Exciting Water sports in Koh Phangan - To bring out the adventurer in you…

When you're in Koh Phangan, you're unlikely to feel bored as there are a plethora of fun activities for all types of travellers. Here are some water sports to add to your adventure list!

Boat trips

For those who are looking for a more relaxing water sport/ activity, boat trips are ideal. Especially if you're travelling with family and want to play it safe, a boat trip won't disappoint and will be an insightful activity! You can tour all over the island or one of the national parks that lay a little past the island, such as Angthong National Marine Park, which is truly a natural beauty! You may have to book this trip in advance or check with your Koh Phangan resort whether they offer this service or not.

Snorkelling is truly the best of water activities and is also extremely popular in Koh Phangan. The best part about snorkelling is that it can be enjoyed by almost everyone, making it fun when you're holidaying with a group. The west coast of the island boasts the best places for snorkelling, which you can get to on your own either by walking, going on a motorbike, kayaking or even in a taxi! You can opt for a snorkelling tour, but it's much better to go about on your own, as there are no time constraints. You don't need to worry if you don't have snorkelling equipment as there are plenty of shops to rent equipment from. If you do opt to go snorkelling on your own, keep in mind that there are no lifeguards or a flag system on the island, so you need to be extra careful.

Scuba Diving

The island of Koh Phangan is said to offer some of the best diving in the Gulf of Thailand. When you're holidaying at Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, do allocate some time to go scuba diving in order to explore the vibrant underwater life, which consists of colourful fish, moray eels, and rays, shrimps and crabs. One of the best places to go scuba diving would be Angthong National Marine Park, especially because the corals here are extremely varied. If you're a more experienced scuba diver, you can also explore the caves, overhangs and swim-throughs.

For another relaxing water activity, fishing is perfect! You can get to the fishing spots via local tail boats, where you can relax under the shine of the sun and catch a couple of fish you can take back with you! There are also organised game fishing trips you can opt for.

Jet Skiing

For an activity that gives an adrenaline rush, jet skiing is the sport you need to consider experiencing! A few beaches in Koh Phangan rent out jet skis, where you can rent them by the hour and even have the option of taking an organised tour around the island. If you enjoy the thrill of jet skiing, you must also give a hand at wakeboarding or waterskiing.
