If you do not want to connect with Facebook, skip this step and go straight to step two. You will need to provide a phone number to complete the Venmo account set-up. Once done, you can add a photo and change the default username. You can also sync your phone and Facebook contacts with Venmo.
To set up a Venmo account, you will have to download the app on your phone. It is quite simple to create a new account.
