Wrought iron is a ductile, soft, and fibrous variety produced from a semifused mass of
relatively pure iron globules surrounded by slag. It includes less than 0.1% carbon and one or two percentage slag. It is an iron alloy with less carbon substance and it is entirely different from cast iron. This semi-fused collection of iron with tough slag inclusions makes a grain that is noticeable when it is
etched, bent or rusted to the point of failure.
