When I close my eyes and I dream at night, I see Martyn's designs! Opulent doesn't begin to describe the spaces this man creates! My ultimate fantasy, my pie-in-the-sky, my fantasia would be to live in a home designed by this master of design!
I have to admit, if you take a look around my home, you will see "Candice" everywhere! An area rug she designed, her favourite Benjamin Moore colours on my walls and her "Family Spaces" book on my coffee table! Her fun loving spirit and beautiful designs are awe inspiring! A true talent in every sense of the word!
Upon winning a nation wide colour contest, I was given a free flight to anywhere in Canada. I chose to fulfill a dream of mine and go to a live taping of the Steven and Chris show in Toronto! The practical tips and down to earth design advice these boys dispense is invaluable! Now that I'm back home in Edmonton, I continue to check in on "my boys" daily for their wonderful words of wisdom!!!
I think of Sarah as a triple threat! From trends to makeovers and Q & A's. She does them all, and does them all better than well!!! I love how she can design an entire kitchen based on the inspiration found in a tea towel! Now that's motivational!!! Thank you Sarah for helping me to see the beauty in even the smallest things!
Hilary is the master of managing unrealistic expectations and impossible budgets! Her matter-of-fact way of dealing with difficult clients is an art in itself! I admire her technique and have put a few of them in my back pocket! Hilary is a confident and professional lady who takes no guff...and I LOVE it!
In design school you are given challenging scenarios: Big families living in tiny spaces, couples with completly opposing tastes..... The competitors on HGTV Star are given the same type of demanding projects, WITH the added pressure of a TV audience! I love the innovative solutions this show squeezes out of these talented contestants! Gets my creative juices flowing!
Jane is my colour guru! Embarrassing to admit, but what I have learnt from Jane's show - Colour Confidential rivals what I learnt in my colour theory courses from the University! (I could have saved a lot of $$$ on tuition!) Watching Jane work her magic is the best kind of homework!! This girl knows her stuff, and I am privileged to be learning from the best!
