List of activities you can do in Qatar – For a memorable and fun-filled trip

Qatar is widely known for offering visitors the best of everything, so it's no surprise this increasingly cosmopolitan metropolis is steadily becoming popular with global travellers. Read on to find out more.

1

Stroll along the Corniche

Spanning over seven kilometres, the Doha Corniche is a pedestrian public area that offers panoramic views of Doha Bay. The corniche is a definite favourite spot to rest, relax, exercise and even dine at for locals. The beautifully constructed promenade caters to every visitor's need. Here you can take a brisk walk in the morning, feast on an elaborate lunch at one of Doha's best restaurants and even go for a ride on a Dhow vessel for a more immersive experience. The Corniche can also be reached from hotels that offer meeting rooms in Doha such as the likes of Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels By Tivoli with complete ease.

2

Have yourself a desert adventure

There is nothing like taking in the sultry beauty of the desert in all its ruggedness and desolateness. No visit to the Emirate is complete without spending some time in it engaging in some adrenaline-pumping sports such as off-road driving, sandboarding, and sand skiing down the splendid sand dunes. Other quainter experiences include possibly going for a ride on a camel, one of the only animals who can brave the unforgiving nature of the desert. If you are after a more immersive experience, consider booking an overnight luxury desert camping stay.

3

Take in the National Museums of Qatar

A brand-new national museum in Doha that opened quite recently to the public is the Qatar National Museum. It also happens to be named one of the best places to visit in the world by the Time Magazine publication. The institution having opened to the public in 2009, attracts thousands of visitors daily. Spanning over 1.5 kilometres, the space narrates Qatar's history in three sections starting from beginnings, life in Qatar and finishing with the section named the modern history of Qatar. A visit is a definite must and promises to be a truly enlightening experience.

4

Visit the Al Koot Fort

Located smack bang in the very heart of Doha, Souq Waqif, the magnificent Al Koot Fort was first constructed in the year 1927 and later converted into a museum. Here visitors can take in ethnic ornaments, paintings, handicrafts and intricate woodwork, all of which come together to contribute to the country's rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Take in the Grand Mosque of Qatar

Situated in the capital's Jubailat district, the State Grand Mosque is Qatar's national place of worship. Opened to the public in the year 2011, the mosque covers a total of 175, 164 square kilometres. The Grand Mosque features over 93 concentric domes and over 20 entrances and can accommodate over 30,000 people comfortably. While the mosque is inaccessible to non-Muslims, it can certainly be appreciated for its stunning architecture from the outside.
