A relatively untouched cluster of 99 islets, Langkawi is located along the west coast of Malaysia. With its deep azure shaded waters, unexploited habitat and pristine beaches, there are plenty of islands to explore, yet here are the top five!

Pulau Singa Besar

A vast wildlife sanctuary, Pulau Singa Besar is one of the best holiday destinations in Langkawi. Spanning over 17 km, the sanctuary is home to the region's endemic flora and fauna. Here you will get the chance to observe large troops of monkeys, hornbills, snakes, beautiful peacocks and eagles. The island is also home to giant monitor lizards. Here are some activities tourists can engage in including signing up for an island-hopping tour and eagle feeding. If you are keen on having yourself a little adventure why not opt to camp overnight here. Do note, that you will be required to obtain permission from the local government authorities. The best time to visit the island is usually anywhere from December to the beginning of April.

Rebak Island

A holiday spot that you cannot miss, Rebak island sprawls over a large area of 390 acres. Planning a visit to this island will be ideal if you are in search of quiet luxury. Additionally, the island is also home to some of the best beaches in Langkawi. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to take in while natural attractions to explore include lush jungles, majestic waterfalls and imposing limestone caves. Pulau Lembe

If you are after a secluded beach with little to no crowd, you will be delighted to know that Pulau Lembu is the place for you. It also happens to be an ideal family vacation spot. Do consider picking up a picnic lunch and choosing a good book, and make your way under the waving palms and rest and relax to your heart's content. Do note that fishing here is prohibited

Pulau Dayang Bunting

The largest island in the cluster, Pulau Dayan Bunting has a history rooted in ancient values and local folklore. Accordingly, locals believe that dip the massive freshwater lake will grant barren women healing and a child. The island boasts plenty of fresh green vistas and majestic limestone rocks, small concept stores, and cute cafés to stop by for a hot cup of tea.

The perfect getaway for visitors hoping to escape from the incessant bustle and hustle of their daily lives. A special feature of the Pulau Sengantang island is the vistas of towering rocky islets.
