Snorkelling is a popular option among the shallow coral reefs of Hikkaduwa. Unawatuna is just 5 km from the iconic town of Galle and is a stunning little seaside village. Mirissa is located on the South coast and has plenty for the sun worshiper to enjoy, the shallow waters of the bay make it a playground for all sorts of water sports amongst which snorkelling is a top lure. Diving in Mirissa is quite the experience, here too you have a chance of indulging in a whale watching tour, since the area, especially in March and April is a hub for catching sight of the mighty mammals.

Kirinda

Located in the deep south the Kirinda is a historical coast with links to the island's past. Go there for diving amongst the Little and Great Basses wrecks. The dive sites are only accessible between March and April. The rest of the year the waters and too rough and visibility is very low.
