Wewurukannala Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple revered by Buddhists. The main feature is the enormous seated statue of Lord Buddha at 160 feet in height. The atmosphere is tranquil and you would see devotees going about worshipping or religious rituals. The image houses possess intricately carved facades depicting the skill of the workmen. The first one contains statues of Lord Buddha and the life of Prince Siddhartha before he attained Buddhahood in mural form.
