Yala National Park is located in the South-Eastern part of Sri Lanka and is the prime national park of the island, boasting diversity like no other! In fact, the several habitats found within the park are wide-ranging; you'll see green plains, jungles, lakes, and even beaches. Yala National Park was opened in 1900 and spreads over 12,600 square kilometres. Apart from the majestic leopards, crocodiles, elephants and water buffaloes, there are also over 100 species of birds within the park.
