A wonderfully classic dish popularly eaten for breakfast in France, Croque Madame is an easy breakfast option that can be ordered in almost any brasserie and is a filling way to start your day! Especially if you are tired of the usual baguettes and croissants. A Croque Madame is similar to a cheese and fried egg sandwich, topped with generous helpings of grated cheese. In an interesting twist, when the bread itself is dipped into beaten egg and cooked French toast style, the dish is known as Monsieur Croque!

Bangers and Mash – Great Britain

There is no doubt that Bangers and Mash is comfort food at its finest. A traditional dish hailing from the Isle of Britain, this delicious and filling meal consists of mashed potatoes and sausages served with flavorful onion gravy. Best eaten piping hot, this particular dish is ideal for a hearty dinner after a long day.

Tom Yum – Thailand

Featuring a distinctive flavor and boasting of many regional variations, the Tom Yum is a sour and spicy soup that definitely packs a punch. The broth generally usually includes spices such as crushed chilis, kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass to give it fragrance and flavor along with either chicken, shrimp, fish, or prawns. Satay – Malaysia

Essentially, satay means meat on sticks over a BBQ – and is a basic yet very effective and delicious dish to try. It can be easily be found in and around most Asia tourist attractions being served at roadside kiosks, cafes, and restaurants. Not to be mistaken with junk food, the satay is usually served with rice cakes, slivers of cucumbers and onions with either a peanut gravy or a spicy peanut sauce dip.

Jerk Chicken -Jamaica

Flavorful with a distinct smoky taste, jerk chicken was introduced to the world by Jamaica. The jerk is a style of native cooking where the meat is or wet marinated or dry-rubbed with a very hot spice mixture that uses scotch bonnet peppers and allspice along with a host of other ingredients, and left to marinate for a good while. The seasoning, as a rule, is applied to chicken or pork, but it can be used for vegetables, seafood, and other meats.

Schweinshaxe – Germany

Immensely popular in the region of Bavaria, Sheweinshaxe is a dish consisting of roasted ham hock or pork knuckle. To prepare this dish, the meat is marinated for a significant amount of time. When finally served, the meat is crispy and golden on the outside, and deliciously tender on the inside. Typical sides include roasted potatoes, sauerkraut, or braised red cabbage.
