Khon Kaen is a kid-friendly location, with many beautiful temples. 95% of the population being Buddhist, you will encounter many stunning temples throughout the country, and this region is no different. Wat Nong Wang, Wat Pa Saeng Arun, and Wat Thung Setthi are some of the popular temples to visit. If visiting with kids they will be thrilled with the two lovely parks, Bueng Kaen Nakhon Park and Dino Water Park. The former is found nearby lake Bueng Kaen Nakhon. The parkland area has lots of trees to provide shade and a cycling track. You can find quite a few lively markets and historical sites as well within Khon Kaen. The city can be visited anytime of the year, but the best time is ideally in December to January.
