Best Laptops for Students 2013

Some of the best laptops currently available, when budget is NOT a concern :)

Apple MacBook Air (11", 2013)

With a great keyboard design, large responsive multi-gesture touch pad, bright screen and excellent battery life of up to 9 hours, this Apple MacBook Air is simply perfect for students. Add to this its fast processors, 128 GB Flash storage and free cloud storage and it is easy to see why this laptop made it to our top 10 list even in spite of its ‘steep’ price.

Acer Aspire M5-583P-6428

One of the most stylish laptops on this list, boasting brushed aluminium decks and lids along with powerful graphics processors. It has 8GB of RAM and 500GB Hard drive; more memory and storage than the average student would ever need both for educational purposes and for entertainment.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S (Touch)

This is a small, portable high performance convertible laptop that is very portable (weighs only 3 pounds). It saves you the expense of owning both a tablet and a laptop by combining the capabilities of both into a single machine. You can use it as a laptop in class, as a tablet when surfing, or as a standalone tent to watch high quality movies.

Samsung Chromebook (11.6")

For grade school students who do not need to do a lot of power computing, this Chromebook is an affordable, ideal solution. You can still carry out regular wordprocessing tasks such as writing tasks and still surf the web, watch movies and listen to music just as you would on a powerful regular computer. The only difference is that it will cost you a lot less.

ASUS X550CA-DB31 (15.6")

Even though it does not have a touchscreen (most Asus laptops do) it has a very responsive touch pad that works well with windows 8; allowing you to easily write papers, play games and surf the web with ease. Only the battery is a tad disappointing.

Dell Latitude 3330

Most students are hard pressed for cash and if that’s you then this Dell Latitude is your best choice. One strong point going for it is that it does not come with Windows 8 but comes with the more familiar yet powerful Windows 7; saving you valuable time you would have spent mastering Windows 8.

Sony VAIO Pro 13

When you put together 6 .5hours of battery life, ultra fast Intel Haswell processors and 256 GB of flash memory into the world’s lightest Ultrabook, you get an extremely powerful yet beautiful monster.

Razer Blade 14

Very light, at only 4.2 lbs, with a battery that lasts 8 hours. You can easily carry around the Razer Blade and use it anywhere without the charger. It's got the best processors in the market making it ideal for power computing. And while you are not doing schoolwork, its Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M graphics will give you a mind-blowing gaming experience.

Toshiba Satellite P55t-A5202 (15.6")

This Toshiba satellite is very stylish and you will definitely have a blast showing it off to friends. But its not just plastic; it brings windows 8 to life with its highly responsive touchscreen which also makes it much easier to perform tasks.

HP Pavilion g6t-2000

In this laptop, Hp brings a perfect combination of performance and price. The fast 2nd generation processors and functional design features ( such as the built in number pad) make it easy and fact to use this machine to not only access content but create the same as well.
