Maldives Water Sports and Activities – Exclusively for those who love adventures.

The Maldives is a paradise not only for nature and sea lovers but also for those who are interested in water sports. There is a range of different activities that you can indulge in during your trip to the Maldives including snorkelling, diving, parasailing, and more.

1

Snorkelling

If you want to marvel at the beauty of the ocean during your stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, snorkelling is for you. It is one of the easiest, but most rewarding resort activities in the Maldives. You don't need to have prior experience snorkelling or even swimming to enjoy snorkelling. Your hotel should be able to connect you with an experienced snorkelling instructor who shows you the ropes of how best to learn the techniques involved. More than anything, what you need to be sure of is that the breathing apparatus that you use is in good condition. Once this is confirmed you can spend hours under the water looking at coral reefs, different kinds of fish, and even turtles.

2

Scuba diving

This is an activity that requires more training than snorkelling and is generally best for those who already can swim. You will go deeper into the ocean when diving and will need the ability to swim back up on your own. However, there are varying levels of difficulty that you can choose from. Different parts of the Maldives are made for those with different skill levels. You can consult with your instructor on how best you want to start your Maldivian diving experience to make the most of it. Also, remember that the kind of species that you see in different locations can be quite different. So, choose your diving spot after reviewing this aspect as well. All in all, the Maldives is an excellent location to dive. Both for snorkelling and diving, the weather needs to be relatively good and calm.

3

Parasailing

This is ideal for those who want more adrenaline rush out of their water sports. You will be connected from one end to a boat and the other end to sail and will be able to cruise through the air at high speed. This is an extremely fun activity to do and you can see the beauty of the ocean and its surrounding from a vantage point. This does not require any training, however, might need some getting used to. To enjoy parasailing you will have to pick a day with high wind and good visibility.

4

Jetski

If you would rather cruise through the ocean at high speed, jetskis will be is ideal for you. As long as you are comfortable riding a jetski you can spend hours circling the waters. If you've never ridden a jetski before you can start by doubling up with a friend who is relatively more confident. This way you can get a feel of what the experience is like before you get on one yourself. This is a sport that can be done in any type of weather condition and is always fun.
