Essential packing list for a tropical holiday in the Maldives – Prepare for a great time!

For many people travelling to the Maldives is a dream come true. It is an ideal getaway for anyone who is looking to enjoy the best that the beaches and island life can offer. Along with a range of activities to engage in, there is rarely any time to be bored.

1

For the swimmers

It is natural to imagine that when you visit the Maldives you are going to waddle into the water around you at some point. So, whether you are an expert swimmer or just want to dip your toes in the water, there are some things you will need to pack in advance.
The Maldives is a tropical destination; this means you would be exposed to the sun rays for the time you are spending on the island. A good quality sunscreen would come in handy while you are relaxing on the sunbed or enjoying an adventurous water activity.
If you do forget to bring along some sunscreen, and you are staying at an accommodation such as the Heritance Aarah Maldives be sure to ask for some sunscreen that you can take along with you as you visit other Maldives attractions.

2

Don't forget your wet bags

As mentioned above, there are plenty of chances for your or someone you are travelling with to get wet when in the Maldives so be sure to pack in a good dry bag. This will come in handy if you need to change after a dip in the ocean and need to pack up your wet clothes to carry with you. These items are fairly inexpensive and come in sets of three.

3

Bring an underwater camera

Capturing stills and thrilling moments while enjoying the water activities such as snorkelling, diving, kayaking, etc would be one of the best things you could do in the Maldives. The clear waters of the sea give you immense opportunities to take pictures of the variety of marine life and yourself too in action.

4

Pack your essentials

Keep your eyes on the prize. You are travelling to spend a glorious holiday on the beach. To this end, ensure that you have all the necessary items at hand. One of the first things to do would be to get yourself a decent beach bag, you most certainly cannot be dragging your suitcase onto the beach.
This will help you keep all your key inventory such as some snacks, drinks, books, blankets and speakers in an easy to carry bag for the best possible beach experience.
Additionally, if you are hoping to travel light and visit a range of different beaches then it is recommended to carry clothes that can be washed on the move and are easy to dry.

5

What not to bring with you

This is equally important to keep in mind, but be sure to avoid bringing any alcohol with you on your journey to the islands. Alcohol is strictly prohibited and bringing it in will likely lead to it simply being withheld by airport authorities.
