The Mekong Delta is situated in the southern part of Vietnam. It is a region with several hidden wonders and a thriving ecotourism sector. It is marked by beautiful rivers, surrounding vegetation, paddy farms, orchard,s and more. Here are some of the must-see sights if you ever visit the delta.

Sam Mountain

This is an experience that is considered to be a religious pilgrimage by some and a scenic hike by others. It is situated near Chau Doc city and is a relatively easy climb. However, on the way to the pea,k you can pass a range of shrines, temples,s, and statues which makes the journey very interesting. Once you get to the top there is a military outpost where you can relax and even have a picnic at. The peak is unique since it gives people an outlook of both Vietnam and Cambodia on the two sides.

Riverboat cruises.

If you have ever Googled things to do in Vietnam, you would have most probably come across a Luang Prabang cruise. This is an awe-inspiring experience where you can explore the Mekong Kingdoms while on a charming boat or cruise ship. What you want to spend more time doing during the cruise is completely up to you. Some people like to stop at different destinations such as temples, flowers farms, and factories. Others like to spend as much time in the water and just gently pass through the lust forests surrounding them. Certain parts of the cruise will also take you through local villages and rice farms which are wonderful to look at.

You can spend hours marvelling at the beauty of this Pagoda and even find some calmness and tranquillity here.

Floating Markets

Shopping in Vietnam is always an exciting task. The colourful and vibrant markets offer goods ranging from food, clothes, accessories to furniture, and more. You will have to acquire decent bargaining skills if you want to have a true Vietnamese shopping experience. The floating markets add to this already fun shopping experience by being situated on the beautiful river. You can buy fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown in the nearby farms and also rice that is extremely fresh and authentic. This is a feature that is exclusive to the agricultural parts of the country and is a great way to immerse in the local culture.

Tra Su Indigo Forest

This is a forest that transforms based on the season you visit. During the dry season, you may feel like there is nothing much to this location. However, in the wet season once the rain comes down on the delta it becomes a beautiful flooded forest that is great to explore by boat.
