Best activities to do in Salalah – Make memories as much as you want!

If you are planning to visit Salalah with your family on your next vacation, it is good to have a list of activities to do. Salalah offers activities for people of all ages and interests. Here is a list of activities you can do in Salalah.

1

Have a nature adventure

Nature adventures are always fun to take a part in as a family, friends, or even on your own. The Salalah area is famous for having a range of beautiful landscapes that include valleys, mountains, and waterfalls. If you are someone who likes spending time in nature, one thing you can do is take a day to explore all the waterfalls in the area. There are about four waterfalls in the main Salalah region that you can visit. It is important to choose the best season and time to visit these waterfalls. This is because during bad weather days the waterfalls can get weighed down with fog and the visibility can get significantly compromised. Apart from the waterfalls, you can go on a boating adventure in the Wadi Darbat Valley. You can choose between a motorboat or a paddleboat. Both can be fun in different ways. If you are on a paddle boat, you can take small breaks to just marvel at the beauty of the valley.

2

Beaches and blowholes

If you are planning to stay at a Salalah beach resort, you are going to have plenty of time to spend at the beach. This can be a great way to spend your vacation since it is an ideal activity for everyone in the family. While the kids enjoy the waves and the sand, you can read a book or get a great tan under the sun. During your stay at Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, you are bound to spend a reasonable amount of time at the beach. Blowholes are also another great thing to look at. These blowholes are fountains that originate from springs on the ground. They produce high-pressure water that creates self-sustaining tall fountains. It can be quite an exciting thing for children to see and explore.

Tour the architecture

Oman and specifically Salalah are famous for having mosques and buildings with beautiful and unique architecture. If you a fan of old buildings and ancient architectural techniques, you must visit the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. This mosque is the most famous religious place in the area. It is adorned with massive chandeliers that overlook the prayer halls, green carpets, and extremely beautiful and intricate wall designs. Non-Muslims can visit the mosque throughout the year, except for on Fridays during prayer times. The Land of Frankincense is another ancient architectural wonder that you should not miss out on. It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site which consists of a port, a city, and other elements. The ruins that are remaining help tell the story of how frankincense was made and shipped from Oman to other parts of the world. This can be a very interesting place to visit for history enthusiasts.
