Adventure water sports you can do in the Maldives – Please the adventurer in you!

The Maldives is a luxury holiday destination for couples on their honeymoon, families trying to get away, and even backpackers. A key striking feature of the Maldives is that it is surrounded by water. This means that you get to enjoy a range of water sports while you are there.

1

Snorkelling

Starting with the simplest, the most fun one – snorkelling. This is a sport that you can engage in with almost no training at all. You can spend just a few hours with an instructor if you've never done this before to make sure that you know how to manage your breathing apparatus. From there it is completely up to you to explore the ocean and to take as much time as you want.

2

Diving

While diving isn't as straightforward as snorkelling, it is one of the best things to do when you visit Maldives luxury resorts. This may take more training and practice but will give you a truly memorable experience. Since you will be spending more time in the water and going to deeper parts of the ocean, it will be important to ensure that you are comfortable with it. If not, you will struggle to enjoy the beauty around you. Once you know to dive, there are endless adventures you can be a part of in the Maldives. You can explore coral reefs, swim with sharks and dolphins.

3

Parasailing

This is a relatively new sport, but an extremely fun one. During your time at Amaya Kuda Rah, you should try parasailing at least once. How it works is that you would be connected to a boat that will cruise at high speed while you are also connected to a balloon that will make sure that you glide gracefully over the waves. This also may take some time to get used to and can feel a little scary at first. However, once you've spent a few minutes over the water, you will become more confident and enjoy the process more.

4

Surfing

While surfing may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is something you can enjoy in the Maldives. Different parts of the Maldives are ideal for surfers of different levels. The waves around some islands are calmer which can be best for a beginner until they get a hang of how to get on the board and maintain their balance. If you are a more seasoned surfer, looking for an adventure, there are plenty of dynamic waves to choose from.

5

Jetskis

What's more fun than cruising through the waves in a jetski? If you are used to riding a car or some type of vehicle, this shouldn't be too much of an issue for you. The only requirement is that you maintain your balance, especially when you take turns and increase speed. If you want to first get a feel of the experience it's good to double up with someone who has already managed a jetski. This way you will know how best to ride when your turn is up.
