The Ultimate packing list for Ao Nang – Your best checklist

Ao Nang located in the islands of Krabi in Thailand is a resort town with an amazing beach, quaint town and an array of activities such as diving and tail boating.

1

About Ao Nang

Ao Nang is a lively tourist hub and has the carefree environment of a little town. There are beach resorts that include everything you would need. The beach is gorgeous, with plenty of fun activities abound. Diving is very popular, so is charting a boat to visit some of the scattered islands nearby.
The town is incredibly small, a 30-minute walk will take you to its limits.
To get there by road from Krabi town will take around 20 minutes. From Klong Muang Beach, it will take a similar road time. Noppharat Thara Beach is just a couple of minutes away. By sea, you can take a water taxi from the beaches at Railay, including Ton Sai. You can reach Ao Nang in about thirty minutes, depending on where you take it.
On route, you can even explore a cluster of small and pristine islands found nearby.

What to pack

As in Thailand, the islands can get incredibly hot and humid. So, pack a good supply of easily washable cotton t-shirts, tank tops, shirts, cotton dresses, skirts, shorts preferably in light colours.
A couple of long trousers or dresses if you hope to visit any of the surrounding temples in Krabi, such as Wat Kaeo Korawaram, Panurat Temple, and Wat Tham Suea (Tiger cave temple).
Swimsuits, of course, should be an important item. Pack a few extras, so you will have several standbys when one pair gets wet. Coverups such as sarongs and bandanas. A good pair of sunglasses, a nice wide brim hat, and sun protection is a must. A comfortable pair of flip flops while at the beach and sandals for exploring the town and beyond.

When it comes to clothes pack light, as you will no doubt want to take advantage of the amazing shopping available on the islands and the mainland. So, make sure to keep some room and don't overpack. Plus travelling light means easy mobility to discover all the wonderful locations.

Miscellaneous items

An underwater camera when going snorkelling or swimming. A universal adapter to keep your phones and other important electrical items charged. The main power adapters used in Thailand are Type A, B and C.
A raincoat or an umbrella as sudden heavy downpours can occur from time to time.
Diving or snorkelling gear is a good idea if you already have them with you. If not, they will be available for hire in and around Ao Nang Beach.
Mosquito and insect repellent will come in handy, and so will some laundry bags to separate your wet clothes.
Some energy bars or snacks to keep you on the go during long trips. Of course, the food is amazing and very rarely will you find yourself without something to eat. Many Ao Nang hotels, such as the Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort are among the great places you will find within the town.
