Being a paradise island located in the Indian Ocean, Maldives comprises 1190 islands and 26 atolls. More than 80% of the land is covered by water and is composed of coral islands. Apart from stunning coral reefs, there is a huge variety of fish, dolphins, sea turtles, echinoderms, molluscs and many other ocean species. The official language is known as 'Dhivehi'.
