Best Spots in KL for Gorgeous Sunrises and Sunsets – Enjoy the Stunning Views

The capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, is fast-paced with many allures. But amidst attractive shopping, dining thrills and modern a façade is nature's dazzling attraction – the beautiful sight of sunrise or sunset lighting up the KL skyline. Here are the best spots in KL for sunsets and sunrises.

1

Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

Taman Tasik Titiwangsa is located in the northeast corner of Kuala Lumpur. The area is home to a huge lake from where you can enjoy expansive views of the skyline, and probably one of the most iconic sunrises or sunsets you've ever witnessed. If you need the motivation to get to the park for sunrise, the area is a great place to continue your fitness routine while on holiday. The evenings too are ideal to spend at the park, where apart from the jogging tracks, you can check offers of helicopter rides, water sports facilities and tennis courts. Hang around till sunset and you will be rewarded with quite an amazing sight. Taman Tasik Titiwangsa is a popular weekend hangout for locals. It's easy to reach from The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel, which is only 14 minutes away.

2

KL Forest Eco-Park

One of Malaysia's oldest parklands, the KL Eco-Park is a good place for fun and adventure, as well as enjoying the sunrise. While holidaying at a hotel Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur has to offer, make sure to get there before 7 am to be engulfed in the rays of the rising sun. Or you could visit towards evening, as there are plenty of family-friendly attractions to enjoy. Not to be missed is the sky-bridge, spanning across the treetops at a height of 200 metres, from which you can enjoy stunning views across the region.

3

Petronas Twin Towers

The former tallest towers in the world is a great place to catch a sunset over the city. You can head over to the sky bridge connecting the two towers or the lookout platform. Go there for some shopping and dining; watch the sunset and then stay until the Fountain Show, taking place at 8 pm. There is plenty to keep you occupied at Petronas Towers.

4

Bukit Tabur

If you want a bit of an adventure, head out to Bukit Tabur, easy to reach from KL city centre. This area is home to the world's only ridge made of pure quartz. The trail to the top is easy, and the views are impressive. Pre-dawn trails are available for those of you planning to catch a sunrise, as well as rope facilities for rock climbing fans.

5

Kampung Baru

Kampung Baru is a traditional village where you can go to observe traditional Malay culture. Located in the centre of KL, the area is popular for night shopping because of the huge local market selling a range of clothing, souvenirs, traditional crafts and street food at very reasonable prices. But first, you can explore the woods at the back of the bazaar from where you can watch a pretty sunset.
