🍎 My list includes multicultural books, informational texts for teachers, resources to help teachers and parents, and multimedia.

We Are Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom

I included this link because it tells a story of an Indigenous girl talking about how important water is in everyone's life. In the book, she talks about a "black snake," a metaphor for the Dakota Access pipeline that runs through her land and poisons the water. A teacher could use this book in a lesson plan to explain how important water is to us and the environment around them. Students can then reflect on what they can do in their daily life to protect the earth's natural resources.

Dyslexic Legends Alphabet Book | Children's ABC Books by Alphabet Legends By Beck Feiner

This book provides students with real people who achieved great things despite having dyslexia. I love how this book demonstrates to students that they can do great things even if they have learning stability! Some examples of successful people even with dyslexia are Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso, and JFK. Students need to know that everyone faces challenges and can overcome them. They are not alone.
