Make the most of the coast

The Gold Coast consists of over 70 kilometers of coastline, and if you don't deign to step foot on any of them, then you are seriously missing out! Some must-visit beaches include Mermaid Beach, Kirra Beach, Miami Beach, Main Beach, Surfers Beach, Kurrawa Beach, and Palm Beach just to name a few. Put up a beach umbrella, grab your surfboard and enjoy the sun, sand, and sea to your heart's content. Beach access is free, but you might have to bring some extra cash along if you are keen on renting a comfy beach lounger or want to grab any snacks.

Go back to nature

In terms of nature, there is much to explore and uncover. From beautiful and awe-inspiring national parks, nature lovers will be spoilt for choice. You can take your pick from Springbrook National Park, Lamington National Park, or for some rugged terrain the Mount Barney National Park. If you are not keen on venturing too far from the coastline, opt to head over to the Burleigh Head National Park renowned for its rocky headland, and rainforest circuits.

Have a drink

Having a drink in the Gold Coast is a unique experience, and the destination being the home of a thriving craft beer culture with plenty of breweries to explore. Top picks include Lost Palms Brewing Co, Balter Brewin in Currumbin, or Sandbar in Surfers Paradise. A mug or two of craft beers will generally set you back at approximately $ 15. There are plenty of breweries located near Broadbeach hotels including those the likes of Avani Broadbeach Residences as well.

There is nothing like an outdoor market under the sun. Whether you are hunting for a bargain, keen to have a browse, a yummy treat, or simply want to get out of your hotel, the markets along Gold Coast has a lot to offer. Entrance is free, but you might like to splurge on a delicious acai bowl or some vintage treasure.

In the mood to get pampered on a budget? Then consider heading to the Currumbin Rock Pools for a relaxing dip. Located in the lush Currumbin Valley, the drive to this natural spa in itself will be relaxing, and one will get to see beautiful local cottages, gardens, and farms.

Love to surf and catch waves during your downtime? Then no trip to Queensland will be complete without a visit to Surf World, Queensland's very own surf museum. Here you can take a peek at Australia's largest collection of surfboards, and learn more about the evolution of design and technology starting from the early 1930s to the present day. There are also some great photographs to take on that show Australia's surf scenes and the changing beach culture as well!
