All things Doctor Who
You may never become a Time Lord -- but least you can learn to write in their elegant, intricate language. There's no "official" lexicon to the circular Gallifreyan script we've seen in Doctor Who, but Loren Sherman has a guide to writing in it. It looks cool, and it can be your own private code.

How's this for Geek awesome? FYI, Warwick Davis is R2D2. Even with the prequel crap, George Lucas decided R2 wasn't right without a man inside. He came back for Willow and played the titular character. This guy's shorter than the Ewoks, a throwback to George's desire to have an entire planet of Wookie's, and quite possibly the best all-around character from these franchises.
Not sure what kind of Neil Gaiman fan I am at the moment ... I did enjoy several of his books and really only stopped paying attention to him (as writer and entertainer and blogger) when he started dating Amanda Palmer, but this is good stuff. Check out his interview and list via NPR.

On November 23, 2013, Doctor Who will have been on the air and in fans hearts for 50 years. This is a long time for a scifi (or any) show to be on the air and the BBC is taking full advantage of this milestone and achievement - helped in no small part by the revived series and stars like Matt Smith, David Tennant, and Christopher Eccleston.
Hello, folks. My name is Robin and I'll be blathering on in episodic fashion for Geek Eccentric. This week's ramble-fest is brought to you via TARDiS. Lots of speculation has been buzzing about the identity of the new companion, Clara Oswin Oswald, in the new series of Doctor Who.
More on my current Doctor Who crush (much like Amy, like the fiction and not interested in the actor). Check out andscifi.com's thoughts on the forthcoming characters also read Robin's comments (posted earlier). My thoughts on this companion can't really be explored without some spoilers. But I'll start with the more basic stuff.
I'm going to admit, right up front, this is crap in my opinion. With Photoshop (especially) the likelihood of this being true is ... uh ... nil. However, the possibility is still enchanting so, let the possibility exist. Read more from Kasterborous's site by following the link at the bottom.

( Review the Geek Eccentric Spoiler policy here.) One of the things that is true of Steven Moffat is his ability to game ideas for a very long time. Even before Russell T. Davies left the show to focus elsewhere, Moffat was introducing long-term ideas into his scripts.
For lovers of the Tenth Doctor ( David Tennant), here's some news on his current ITV project Broadchurch where he unravels crime and does it in style. Read the quote and then click through to the actual article.
An interview with Steven Moffat reveals ... there will be only one 50th Anniversary special. However, and I'll take the moment to express my thoughts, I think the casting of new actors for the early Doctors and companions is both Moffat's and the BBC 's way of obfuscating what will be a part of the 50th Anniversary.
Weekly Recap The weekly recap doesn't happen as often as I'd like it to. Or as it should, but after getting things fixed and taking some time (this week) to incorporate some new methods of distributing content, some are still in testing phase, I think the top posts should be shared for the week.

This is an interesting Doctor Who 50th Anniversary tie-in. BBC Books are re-issuing a novel per doctor. Kinda cool. With the newest episode of Doctor Who, The Bells of St. John's, only 19 days away (but who's counting), I thought it might be a good time to share some Doctor Who definitions as created by superfan Jenny Lawson, a.k.a The Bloggess . Don't know The Bloggess? You don't know what you're missing.
I'm going to be a bit nicer than The Mary Sue in assessing Steven Moffat 's final words (though nowhere near final) on the demise of Amy and Rory. First, read this: "New York would still burn. The point being, he can't interfere.
