Other visits can include, The Petronas Tower, Eco Forest and the Botanical Gardens. Merdeka Square, where Malaysia celebrated her independence is another important site.

If you are keen on discovering Malaysian culture and history, head to Penang, located on the coast. The city of George Town is a beautiful colonial-era city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The street art in George Town is one of its most famous attractions, along with pre-war heritage houses.

Penang Hill is another famous spot with panoramic views of Penang and Georgetown surrounding the ocean. The hill is covered in rainforests, temples, bars and restaurants.

You can also visit the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia, Kek Lok Si Temple, known as the Temple of Happiness. It is only a few hours away from George Town.

However, quieter beaches can be found in Pantai Tengah and Tanang Rhu. There are many waterfalls on the island as well such as Telaga Tujuh, Air Terjun Temerun and Durian Perangin. You can find some of the best resort in Langkawi as well. You can try places such as Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa.

The island is located further south of Langkawi and is less crowded. There are many pretty beaches and gorgeous landscapes to explore. An ideal spot for some relaxation!

Go to Malaysian Borneo

Go to see the 'old man of the wood', the beloved orangutans in their natural habitat! With deforestation sharply increasing due to palm oil cultivation these primates are one of the most threatened species in the world.
