Exciting ways to experience food in Kuala Lumpur- Some unique ways to eat!

The city of Kuala Lumpur is a hub of cultures and experiences. The food can be equally diverse with a thriving street food scene, plenty of posh restaurants and quirky dining experiences! You won't be going hungry in KL that's for sure.

1

Plane in the city

Get a feel of what it's like to eat a fancy meal on a plane without even leaving the ground, in this unique restaurant. Guests get served a 3 or 5-course feast on a Boeing 737 in the middle of the city. Before the meal, they offer a wing walk and a tour of the cockpit. You will have to choose from three options, first, business and economy.
Vegetarian meals are provided for those who request them, and all are Halal certified.
Before the meal, a humorous safety demo is provided to simulate an actual flight, and it even shakes as if to take off!

2

Dinner in the sky!

Have a fine dining experience in the sky ! Dinner in the Sky utilises a crane to raise its guests, the table, and serving staff 150 feet into the air.
The whole dinner lasts for an hour. You will be served a delicious 3 or 4-course meal in the air, with ariel views of Kuala Lumpur and the Petronas Towers at your beck and call. A unique experience for sure!

3

Dining in the dark

Here you will be eating in pitch darkness. Guests have to sit in the dark and eat their food. One has to figure out your meal via the available senses; touch, smell and sound. The servers are either blind or visually impaired. They will guide you on how to eat and drink without using the vision. This experience will surely make you realise the importance of sight and instil an appreciation for those who live without its function. It is indeed a sense we often take for granted.
The menu will be a surprise, however delicious! And you will have to guess the contents on your plate by using smells and textures to guess the ingredients.

4

Din Tai

If you feel like a Michelin-starred dim sum for cheap, then head to Din Tai Fung! Found in the Pavilion shopping centre, Din Tai is a fun place to eat. As you wait to be seated, you can catch a glimpse of chefs preparing their dishes. It almost takes you into a trance like state to see them work with such precision and speed.
Their menu is extensive, with many vegetarian and vegan options available. There is paper and pencils at your table to go through the menu and mark the items you hope to order. If questions persist regarding the items, call down a waiter, although they do, seem busy during the rush hours.
Try a variety of dumplings, dry noodles, steamed buns, desserts and whatnot. It is definitely among the top attractions in Kuala Lampur for foodies, so don't miss out. When looking for accommodation, you can try the likes of hotels such as PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur.
