Tips For Travelling to Phuket with Children – Time to bring the kids along

It is inevitable that at some point in your life you will need to learn how to travel with children. They may be your own or they may be your nieces and nephews. Either way, travelling with children can be a joy if it is done with the proper planning to ensure you have all your bases covered.

1

Take care of the vaccinations

It does not matter if you are staying at a luxury suite in Phuket such as the Anantara Layan Phuket Resort or a humble hostel, one of the first things that need to be taken care of well in advance to embarking on your trip is ensuring that everyone has their vaccinations taken care of.
This is particularly important with regards to any children who may be travelling with you. One or two months before your departure be sure to visit your local doctor and find out which vaccinations will be needed before you visit Thailand. Doing so will ensure that there are no major medical emergencies during your visit to this stunning nation.

2

Stock up on baby supplies

If you are travelling with a new-born baby, one of the best things you can do is pack extra nappies, baby food and infant formula so that you do not need to run about in a foreign country in the middle of the night. Doing so will ensure that not only do you save money but you can ensure you and your loved ones can have a stress-free journey.

3

Prepare for the climate

Depending on when you are have decided to take your journey, you may be faced with either stifling heat or torrential rainfall. Regardless the best thing you can do is ensure that where you are staying has a play area or kids club to keep the little ones occupied when the weather may prohibit them from going outside.
There are plenty of malls that will assist in this as well such as the Big C and Central shopping centres in Phuket Town and Jungceylon.

4

Plan your health and insurance

A good way to ensure a smooth trip is to take the time to organize some appropriate insurance coverage during your travels. This will be extremely helpful on the off chance that either you or your children will need some form of surgery or overnight stay at a hospital when in Phuket.
There is no worse feeling than finding yourself strapped for cash during a trip with friends and family, particularly during a medical emergency.

5

Be aware of beach safety

While Phuket does offer some stunning beaches to enjoy, there is a time and place for everything. Unfortunately, being at the beach means that you will need to be extra vigilant about your children as there are likely to be strong currents and waves that could make for nightmare scenarios.
The best thing to do is if you visit between May to October, to simply avoid swimming in the ocean!
