Rembrandt was a dedicated self-portraitist all his life. His age shows and it's a self-portrait. Vanity might not have been a weakness in him.
She looks down in deep thought. She also manages to look exhausted at the same time.

This impressive picture was clearly inspired by Rembrandt’s style of the 1660s and was conceivably painted in his workshop. The broad, uniform application of paint and rather decorative use of strokes and scratches imitate some of Rembrandt’s surface effects but fail to achieve his sense of volume, various textures, and atmosphere.
Old Woman Cutting Her Nails ca. 1655–60 Style of Rembrandt Dutch. She bends to one side and light falls on her clothes. Her facial features are not very visible from that angle. The knife looks dangerous! A little more colour in this portrait than the others.
Something about armour and how light reflecting from it give the painting more character somehow. Upper half of the old warrior's face is hidden by the shadow of his head-gear. His posture is that of an old tried and tested fighter. Not a great likeness to my idea of what Mars would look like. However, there is character here.
